Young people across Galway are being encouraged to use their voice by voting in the upcoming Galway West By-election.

The National Youth Council of Ireland says there are almost 30 thousand voters aged between 18 and 29, and they have real power to influence the outcome.

It adds their votes can help ensure that the needs and priorities of young people are reflected in political decision-making.

NYCI Champion for Galway City, Sonya Naumova has been speaking to David Nevin.
