Galway's Jane O'Leary first Irish composer to be elected an honorary member of the ISCM

Galway-based composer Jane O'Leary has been awarded honorary membership of the International Society for Contemporary Music.

This is the first time an Irish composer has received the title which is given by the ISCM to honour a person's international achievements.

Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Jane has lived in Ireland since 1972 and is a founding member of Music for Galway and MusicConnects.

Her long list of achievements includes receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Concert Hall in 2025.
