Gardaí are due to question a man in his 30s in connection with the death of mother-of-two Masuma Sohrabi in Clifden.
The body of the 31-year-old was discovered yesterday morning near an IPAS accommodation centre on the outskirts of the town.
Masuma arrived in Ireland from Iran in 2024 and worked in a local hotel while her children are in Junor Infants and First Class at Scoil Mhuire in the town
She had been reported missing from the centre the night before and it's understood she died from stab wounds.
The man arrested is receiving medical treatment in hospital so Gardaí need medical clearance to begin questioning.
Gardai say they're following a definite line of enquiry and they're not looking for anyone else.
They're collecting CCTV footage and have been speaking to other women living in the IPAS Centre
