A number of local Government TD's have met with protestors blockading the fuel depot at Galway Harbour.
They're remaining steadfast despite Gardaí warning they’ll make arrests if necessary to unblock critical infrastructure.
The Defence Forces are also on alert for assistance, particularly with vehicles capable of removing heavy machinery.
This afternoon's meeting was attended by Galway East Fine Gael TD Pete Roche and Fianna Fail Galway West TD John Connolly.

Speaking after the meeting, Deputy Roche told James Varley he'll be taking a message back to Government.
