The green light has been given for a major expansion at the ATU Galway campus at Dublin Road - known as the "Future Living Laboratory Building".
It'll be a multi-storey building with almost 4 thousand square metres of floor space connected to the main building via bridges.
It's described as having a core focus on sustainability, digital Learning, and interdisciplinary collaboration, offering classrooms, lecture halls and multi-purpose spaces.
When completed, the state of the art building will face the Ballybane Road, opposite the entrance to Glasán student accommodation.
The project is worth an estimated €27m - and city planners have now approved the project with routine conditions attached.
