HSE West advising people to consider all care options this Bank Holiday

HSE West and North West is advising people to be aware of their healthcare options this Bank Holiday weekend.

It says January has been extremely busy across health services in the West, and there's been sustained demand for inpatient care.

Trolley figures have been significantly high at UHG this month, reaching 92 just last week, while some elective procedures have been postponed at times.

HSE West is reminding people there are a number of healthcare options available over the weekend - including your GP or local pharmacy.

Ann Cosgrove, HSE Healthcare Manager, Galway and Roscommon says they will continue to monitor service pressures closely and are working to support patient flow.

The National Ambulance Service is also urging the public to consider all care pathways in advance of contacting them.
