Some forecourts are limiting how much fuel people can buy, with others running out of petrol and diesel.
The head of Fuels for Ireland says after 48 hours of blockades at the country's main depots, a number of sites have already run out of stock, particularly in Galway, Cork and Kerry.
Some stations in Galway are reporting business four times higher than normal, and some who still have stock expect they could run dry later today.
