The Irish People's Party has announced it is fielding a candidate in the upcoming Galway West by-election.
Leader of the party, AJ Cahill is now the 13th person in the race to fill the seat vacated by now President Catherine Connolly.
Mr. Cahill is described as a Salthill native, an engineer by trade, and a father of three.
He contested the 2024 General Election in Galway West, and received almost 500 first preference votes.
