Just 2% increase in CAO applications in Galway

There has been an increase of just two percent in the number of CAO applications in Galway this year.

Figures from the Central Applications Office show just shy of 4,500 students applied for the CAO in Galway - with slightly more women than men applying.

Nationally, there was a 6 and a half per cent increase in the number of CAO applications this year.

Nearly 89 thousand applications have been submitted, compared to nearly 83 and a half thousand last year.
