The latest government report shows over 700 new-build social homes are in the pipeline for Galway
According to the Social Housing Construction Status Report, 327 homes were under construction across the county at the end of 2025 with a further 385 units at design or tender stage.
In Galway City, building work was underway on 119 homes during the same period, while an additional 96 units were at the planning or tender phase.
The report also indicates that 208 homes were under construction across Galway County with a further 289 units progressing through design or tender stage.
