Local retirement group calls for free shingles vaccine for the elderly

A local retirement group took to the streets today demanding free shingles vaccine for older people those who are immunocompromised.

The campaign group says many people are being priced out of access to the 500 euro vaccine, despite the serious pain and long-term complications shingles can cause.

The event forms part of a wider national campaign by Active Retirement Ireland, whose petition has gathered over 23,000 thousand signatures.
