Local senator calls for establishment of passport office in Galway

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A local senator is calling for an urgent revamp of how passport services are offered - including the establishment of a new passport office in Galway.

Addressing the Seanad, Senator Sean Kyne acknowledged the pressure staff are under due to increased demand and delays due to Covid-19.

However, he outlined a range of steps that could easily be taken to alleviate the current situation, such as improved online services and advance notification of renewal.

Senator Kyne also suggested that a local sub-office could be based in Galway.
