A local Senator is seeking a ministerial debate around traditional seaweed harvesting rights in Connemara.
It's as Canadian firm Arramara has renewed its application to secure rights to harvest seaweed along large sections of the coast.
There's significant concern around the impact on local harvesters.
It's further complicated by the fact some rights are formally recorded, while others are traditional rights passed down through generations.
Senator Sean Kyne is now seeking a debate with the Ministers with responsibility, to ensure all rights are protected and respected.
