A man has been arrested after a woman in her 30s was found dead in Clifden.
Gardaí are investigating the circumstances after the woman's body was discovered near an emergency residential premises on the Galway Road.
A man in his 30s was arrested, and is currently receiving medical treatment, and Gardaí are not looking for any other person in relation to the incident.
Gardaí attended the scene this morning, which has now been preserved for an examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.

The body will be removed in due course, and a post mortem examination will be carried out, which will assist in determining the course of the ongoing investigation.
