Hungarian man dies in Monivea motorcyle crash

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The man who died in a road traffic incident near Monivea yesterday (26/2) was a foreign national who had been living in area for some time.

Gardaí are investigating the crash which occurred on the Monivea to Athenry road at Glennaslac around 3 o' clock yesterday afternoon.

The Hungarian man, in his late 40s, was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle in a flood.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to University Hospital Galway.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been travelling on the Monivea Road about 3 miles from Monivea yesterday afternoon to contact them at Galway garda station at 091 53 8000.
