The man in custody in connection with the death of mother-of-two Mass-e-mah Sohrabi in Clifden has yet to be formally questioned by Gardaí as he's receiving medical treatment
A post mortem examination is due on the woman in her 30s whose body was found in the Galway Road area after she was reported missing from the IPAS Centre she lived in on Wednesday night.
Gardai attended what they say was an emergency situation.
Ms Sohrabi arrived in Ireland from Iran in 2024 and it's understood she died from stab wounds.
A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with her death.
Gardai say they're following a definite line of enquiry and they're not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation at the moment.
