Army chaplain Paul Murphy, who was stabbed repeatedly at Renmore Barracks in 2024, has been awarded a distinguished service medal, as have three other soldiers who came to his aid.
A ceremony has taken place at Dún Uí Mhaoilíosa, with the awards presented by Minister for Defence Helen McEntee.
Private Ciara Shanahan, Corporal Daniel Padden and Private Dylan Geraghty were also recognised for their actions on the night of the attack.
The attacker, a teenage boy, was jailed for ten years last year, after pleading guilty to the attempted murder of Fr. Murphy on August 15th, 2024.
