The median house price in County Galway has risen by €51,500 in the past year.
This is according to the Residential Property Price Index from the Central Statistics Office, which values the median price of a dwelling in the county at 362 thousand euro, as of March 2026.
According to CSO data, the most expensive Eircode in Galway is H91, which includes Galway city and surrounding areas such as Bearna, Salthill and Oranmore, as well as parts of Connemara.
The median price there comes in at 415 thousand, an increase of nearly 10 per cent from March of last year.
The most affordable homes are in Ballinasloe, with 200 thousand being the average price there, a fall of 18 thousand from last year, the only area in the county seeing a sizeable decrease.
Locations such as Athenry, Loughrea and Tuam have all seen increased prices, coming in at 400 thousand, 335 thousand, and 300 thousand euros respectively.
Prices in Clifden remain largely the same, at 287,500 euros.
Nationally, the price index has rose by 6.5% in the past 12 months, with the region outside Dublin seeing the most growth being the midlands, at 13.5 %.
