A milestone has been reached in the ongoing redevelopment of Ceannt Station - with new platforms set to open this weekend.
Platforms 3 and 4 are entering service from tomorrow, Saturday, alongside platform 5.
The focus of this project is simple - deliver a state-of-the-art, greatly expanded transport hub in the heart of Galway City.
That means more platforms, more rail services, more facilities, and an expanded retail offering, all beneath a new glass roof.
Now that platforms 3 and 4 are entering service this weekend, customers will have access to the new southern concourse, and all the modern facilities it offers.
Focus will now turn to the northern section and platform 1, which will now close to enable transformative works there as well.
Meanwhile, work continues on platform 2 - and overall, it's expected the red ribbon will be cut on a brand new Ceannt Station in August.
