Sales of new electric vehicles in Galway rose by 55 percent last year.
786 new EVs were registered between January and December 2025.
Meanwhile, regular new car sales rose by almost ten percent in Galway last year - up to 5,152.
Nationally, new car sales rose by just three percent, with new EV sales rising by more than a third.
Petrol was the most common fuel-type bought last year, accounting for 25 percent of sales.
However, Electric, Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid vehicles gained momentum - accounting for more than 56 percent of the market.
The hatchback continues to remain Ireland's top-selling car body type, while grey retained its spot as the most popular colour for the tenth year in a row.
