A New Suicide Crisis Assessment Nurse team is to be established in Galway.
The SCAN team will allow people who are experiencing suicidal ideation that present to their GP to gain quick access to a specialist.
The new Galway-based team is one of five SCAN teams being recruited nationwide - the others are in Kerry, Limerick, Kildare and Dublin South City.
