NUI Galway to remove requirement for students' names on exam papers

Galway Bay fm newsroom - NUI Galway is to introduce anonymous marking of exams.

It follows a year-long campaign by the college's Students' Union amid concerns about the potential for bias marking.

NUIG's Academic Council has now approved the proposal for anonymous marking beginning in the next academic year.

It means no student's name will appear on the formal examination papers and students will only be identified by their student number.
