Galway Bay fm newsroom - Students at NUI Galway have voted overwhelmingly to support the reunification of Ireland.
Over three thousand students turned up at the polls to have their say, with over 2,300 of them - or 75% - voting in favour of a 32 county republic.
The result means that the Student Union now officially supports the reunification of Ireland and will call on the state to hold a national referendum.
