One arrest has been made, five vehicles have been detained and 30 fixed charge notices have been issued after a multi-agency operation in Co Galway.
Gardaí carried out a series of multi-agency checkpoints around County Galway today - with colleagues from Customs, the RSA and the Department of Social Protection.
There was one arrest at Tuam Garda Station for failing the roadside test for cocaine, and Gardaí say multiple prosecutions will follow other road traffic offences.
Customs also detected several offences relating to the use of 'green' diesel, and the Dept of Social Protection are following lines of enquiry relating to social welfare and employment.
