More than 11,000 penality notices were issued to drivers with a Galway registration in 2025.
That's according to the latest figures released by the CSO.
October was the month that had the highest number of penalty notices issued in Galway, while September had the least.
In December 2025, Galway was in the top 5 counties with the most penalty notices issued, with 1,052.

Over half of the penalty notices issued that month in Galway were for speeding, with the next most common offence being driving while holding a mobile phone.
Meanwhile, of the one thousand drivers issued with a penalty notice in December 2025, two thirds were recorded as male drivers.
