3,617 Leaving Certificate students across Galway are receiving their results this morning.
They can be accessed from 10 via the State Examinations Commission self-service portal.
Minister for Further and Higher Education James Lawless is congratulating students:

Guidance Counsellor Betty McLoughlin outlines what students need to access their results.

Results have fallen this year as grade deflation was introduced following years of inflated outcomes caused by disruption during the covid pandemic.
Nationally, over 65 thousand students sat the Leaving Certificate exams this year, and this year the number of candidates awarded top grades is down by around 2 per cent.
Faye Ní Dhomhnaill, former President of the University of Galway Students' Union has this advice for people who are not happy with their results:

After receiving results today, many students will be looking to next Wednesday, when CAO offers will be made.
Galway city Guidance Consultant Claire Murphy has this advice for all students, whether they're happy with results or not.
