A group of paramedics have been picketing outside Merlin Park Hospital over pay since 8am today.
It's part of a 24 hour nationwide protest due to a long running dispute between the National Ambulance Service and unions.
It's led to around 2 thousand workers walking off the job today.
The row is over grading and pay related to a programme of modernisation and training within the service.
The HSE is warning of potentially long delays to non-life-threatening call outs.
However the 999 service is operating and priority is being given to emergency cases.
These paramedics have been speaking to Sarah Slevin about why they're out picketing:
The Taoiseach is calling for the National Ambulance Service's strike action to end, sayings it's ‘not satisfactory’.
Micheal Martin says dialogue is needed between the HSE and the 2 thousand EMTs, ambulance workers and paramedics who are on the picket line.
