City planners are requesting further information on a project to build a major new GAA complex in Mincloon, before they can make a decision.
The project is led by Salthill Knocknacarra GAA Club and is worth around €10m.
It'll deliver three new floodlit pitches to address a growing capacity problem for juvenile teams across football, hurling, ladies football and camogie.
But there has been some opposition, from local residents on traffic grounds, as well as local clubs concerned about the location.
Now, city planners are seeking further information on several grounds - the most prominent being the fact it appears to clash with the Galway City Ring Road.
