There's been a positive reception from the County Council to a proposal to complete a full walkway around Loughrea Lake.
Councillor Moegie Maher says the idea goes back to 2004, with a 3km walk already done, but not all landowners have given the go-ahead for it to go the whole way around.
The Fine Gael Councillor is asking the local authority to get around this by installing a boardwalk in places over the lake to bring the full walk to around 7km.
The council says there could be environmental or other barriers, but it would be a worthwhile project.
