A post-mortem examination will determine the course of the Garda investigation into the death of a young man who was found unresponsive in the Newcastle grounds of the University of Galway last evening.
The man in his thirties was brought by ambulance to University Hospital Galway, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
The Coroner and Office of the State Pathologist were notified and the scene was preserved.
A Garda spokesperson has confirmed that investigations are ongoing and that the results of the post mortem are awaited.
