A photo exhibiton on the 'hidden world' beneath Galway Bay has been officially opened by Uachtarán na hÉireann Catherine Connolly at Galway City Museum.

'An Tír Faoi Thoinn', or 'The Land Beneath Galway Bay' is a collection of underwater photography compiled by the Late Dr John Costelloe.

Dr Costelloe was a Zoology graduate from the University of Galway, a marine biologist, passionate diver and underwater photographer.

The exhibition will be open until the end of June and admission to the museum is free.
