Galway city native Dr Margaret Connolly is among at least six Irish citizens on board a Gaza-bound aid flotilla who have been detained by Israel.
Sligo GP Dr Connolly who's originally from Shantalla and is a sister of President Connolly, was sailing on the Blue Toys ship in the Global Flotilla when it was intercepted by Israeli forces off the coast of Cyprus.
Organisers say 52 civilian boats carrying 461 volunteers from 45 countries have been intercepted so far.
The flotilla has posted a video of Margaret, which was recorded before her detention.
