President of Ireland Michael D Higgins is in Galway later today to attend a 25th anniversary event at Terryland Forest Park.
He'll address the event, plant a tree in the park and unveil a plaque of his poem 'The Mountain'.
The celebrations will highlight the journey since the first planting in the park in 2000, encompassing an estimated 100,000 native Irish trees over 120 acres.
Tomorrow, the President will attend an event at the University of Galway.
