Galway Bay fm newsroom - President Michael D Higgins will be among the mourners at Bishop Eamonn Casey's funeral at Galway Cathedral this afternoon.
The funeral of the former Bishop of Galway gets underway in the next half hour, and hundreds have already taken their seats.
Following the service, Bishop Casey will be laid to rest in the Cathedral crypt.
An area of the nearby carpark has been assigned for mourners and Gardai are on point duty assisting with the flow of traffic.
