There will be two public consultation events held next week (April 28 & 29th) on the Galway City Flood Relief Scheme.
The latest opportunity follows a feedback submission process last year, along with two previous non-statutory engagement days.
The next event will be held across two days, at two different locations, to allow as many people as possible to attend.
It's estimated the Coirib go Cósta Galway City Flood Relief Scheme will cost around €50m, and works on permanent measures are not expected to begin until at least 2030.
The scheme is described as a significant body of work, with a number of factors to take into account including aesthetics, environmental, and social.
It will cover the area from Blackrock, to the southern shore of Lough Atalia, and close to the city centre.
The upcoming public consultation event will provide people with information on preferred flood protection options, along with giving the chance to speak to the project team.
Day 1 is taking place at the Harbour Hotel, the Docks, next Tuesday April 28th, with Day 2 the following day, Wednesday 29th April at the Galway Bay Hotel, Salthill.
Both events run from 3PM until 8PM, and feedback received will be examined by the team, with the preferred option to be progress to the planning stage.
