Public meeting next week on planning application for Cashla Peaker Plant

A public meeting will be held next week on the recent planning application for the Cashla Peaker Plant.

Bord Gáis Energy is looking to build an Open Cycle Gas Turbine - which would be one of the largest of its kind in Ireland - on a site around 3 kilometres from Athenry town.

The meeting will cover concerns such as air pollution, the plant's operational hours and the potential visual and biodiversity impact, along with how to make an objection.

It will take place at the Raheen Woods Hotel next Monday March 30th at 8PM.
