Public urged to comply with visiting restrictions at UHG due to Norovirus outbreak

Galway Bay fm newsroom - University Hospital Galway is urging the public to comply with visitor restrictions on St Enda’s ward and St Teresa’s ward.

It's due to a number of suspected cases of the Norovirus vomiting bug.

The Saolta Group says there has been an increase in the number of cases of Norovirus in the community.

Patients with pre-planned hospital appointments such as outpatients, who have not had any symptoms of vomiting or diarrhoea, should attend their appointment as normal, unless otherwise advised by the hospital.

Infection control procedures are in place on the affected wards and will remain so until further notice.
