Plans for the redevelopment of the old Corrib Great Southern site opposite ATU Galway are taking shape.
At a meeting last night, management at City Hall said they've met the owners in recent weeks.
They outlined how preliminary sketches have been provided, and more detailed pre-planning meetings are expected in the coming months.
The site was derelict for many years before demolition works were completed in 2022.
What form the redevelopment will take is not yet known, but it's expected there'd be a large residential aspect.
Local Fianna Fail Councillor Alan Cheevers says this could be hugely beneficial for the east side.
