Local residents in Knocknacarra have taken an appeal against the approval of an apartment block in Knocknacarra - including a councillor who is rejecting claims of NIMBYISM.
The 40 home development at Clybaun Road and Western Distributor Road was given the green light by city planners last month.
But a number of people - including Hawthorn Place Residents Association - has taken an appeal to An Coimisiún Pleanála.
The chair of Hawthorn Place Residents Association is Social Democrats Councillor Alan Curran.
He's being accused by some of NIMBYISM in the midst of a housing crisis - but he refutes that strongly, and says this is about ensuring proper development.
