A revamped hackney service will help to provide rural areas of Galway with more accessible and flexible travel options.
This is according to the National Transport Authority, which says the new service will not serve densely populated areas such as Galway City, Ballinasloe and parts of Loughrea.
An online map showing all areas eligible for the scheme is now available and licenses will be valid for 5 years.
Speaking on Galway Talks, Kevin O’Brien, Director of Transport Regulation at the NTA, explains how hackney pricing differs from taxi fares.
