Savita Halappanavar to be remembered at vigil outside Dáil

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Savita Halappanavar will be remembered at a vigil in Dublin this evening.

It's nine years since the 31 year old died at University Hospital Galway, following complications with an incomplete miscarriage.

The Campaign Against Church Ownership of Women's Healthcare group will gather outside the Dail from 5.30 this evening.

Women's rights campaigner Ailbhe Smyth, says her death led to real debate and action on abortion rights in Ireland.
