Seamount College in Kinvara has been named National Marine School of the Year at the Green Schools Marine Environment Awards.
This year's theme was 'Global Citizenship: Marine Environment', with the awards encouraging schools to help raise awareness about the impacts of marine litter and plastics.
Over the past two years, the group at Seamount held a Day of Action at Traught Beach, took part in beach cleans and in learning sessions on Blue Flag criteria.
They've also been recognised for their ReTurn campaigns, ocean surveys and research into global issues such as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
Along with a trophy and award, the school also received €500 to go towards their Green Schools actions.
