Significant progress has been made on the rollout of high-speed fibre broadband which will benefit 3,700 homes and businesses in Belclare.
A new distribution unit has now been installed at Belclare Sports Field, which will serve approximately 3,700 homes and businesses in the catchment area.
Junior Minister and Galway East TD Seán Canney says this marks a major milestone for the community as residents and businesses can expect to begin pre-ordering their connection from mid-July.
Minister Canney was centrally involved in the creation of the National Broadband Plan in 2019 as Minister of State for Digital Development and Chair of the Mobile Phone and Broadband Taskforce.
