Galway County Council is pondering possible solutions to parking chaos at beaches in Connemara.
At a meeting this week, there was particular focus on Gurteen and Dogs Bay.
Traffic bedlam at Connemara beaches during spells of good weather has long been a point of contention.
The biggest concern is that emergency services are often completely blocked from getting through due to illegal parking.
And this week's meeting heard it's not a once-off, but a problem that's only going to get worse as temperatures rise.
There was what management described as a "open discussion on where to go" with several options on the table.
They include additional car parking, road and footpath widening, and shuttle bus services.
But some councillors pointed out that financial reality will probably limit what can actually be achieved.
There was consensus that the most successful way forward in the shorter term is to incentivise private landowners to provide extra parking space.
Other aspects raised include camper vans taking over car parks, and lack of Garda enforcement on illegal parking.
Council management said they would investigate all avenues, saying "nothing is off the table", and they will be liasing with Gardaí on the issue n the near future.
