Clearance work has begun for the Western Rail Corridor at Tuam Station.
The clearing of vegetation and preparation of the rail bed forms part of the early enabling work for the Athenry-Claremorris section.
The project is named as a targeted priority in the Department of Transport’s new Sectoral Plan for the revised National Development Plan.
Junior Minister and Galway East TD Seán Canney says these enabling works mark a significant step forward.
