There's been a big step forward toward the construction of two major school building projects in Athenry.
The Department of Education has confirmed that a Letter of Intent is being issued for buildings for Coláiste an Eachréidh and Gaelscoil Riada.
Coláiste an Eachréidh is set to receive a new 450-pupil post-primary school building with provision for 3 Special Educational Needs (SEN) classrooms.
While Gaelscoil Riada will benefit from a new 16-classroom primary school building including 2 Special Educational Needs (SEN) classrooms.
