Stop-Go Lights on N65 at Heathlawn to be removed in June after almost two years

The Stop-Go lights system on the N65 at Heathlawn - between Portumna and Killimor - will be removed in June, after almost two years.

A temporary culvert will be put in place to safely allow cars to pass on both sides, while the works necessary to fully repair the road will take place later in the year.

Tens of thousands of euros have been spent on the temporary lights with road users experiencing ongoing and frustrating delays.

Galway East TD Louis O'Hara has been raising the issue with TII's Director of Capital Programme Geraldine Fitzpatrick at An Oireachtas Transport Committee meeting
