Substantial funding for two historic Galway city buildings

€170,000 has been awarded to two historic buildings in Galway city - Aras na nGael and Galway Arts Centre on Dominick Street

The Historic Structures Fund invests essential capital in heritage to safeguard the buildings into the future.

In the case of Numbers 45 and 47 Dominick Street the funding will be used to repair their shared roof including the reinstatement of the historic dormers.

The buildings are described as a rare and handsome example of Galway Georgian architecture
