The Taoiseach claims he "shares" in the local frustrations over stalled plans to upgrade wastewater services in Craughwell and Clarinbridge.

Raising the matter in the Dáil, Galway East TD Albert Dolan pointed out funding was announced in 2022.

But he said that it requires Galway County Council to provide 8 percent of the cost - and the local authority claims it simply does not have the money.

Speaking in response, Taoiseach Micheal Martin accepted it's not good enough and he will seek a meeting with Galway County Council.
