The Taoiseach says Ireland is on the verge of losing access to international oil supplies because of the impact of the protests taking place at ports.

Micheál Martin says it is unconscionable that unelected, self appointed protesters would have Ireland on the verge of turning shipments away in the middle of an oil crisis.

Speaking to RTE Radio One, the Taoiseach said people may not realise the gravity of the situation.
